Basic services:

Fillings

At Mukwonago Family Dentistry we provide both amalgam and resin fillings. The type of filling material used is determined based on patient wishes and the area of the mouth to be restored. Amalgam fillings are silver in color and resins are color matched to the existing teeth.

Crowns
Crowns are used to protect a tooth from further breakdown, to change the shape or color of the tooth or to replace a tooth when used with implants.
A crown is a covering for the tooth to help hold the remaining tooth structure together. A crown is made the size of the original tooth with modifications for esthetics. A crown can be either gold, metal and porcelain or all porcelain.

Bridges
A bridge is a prosthesis used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge is not removable. A bridge consists of a crown on each tooth adjacent to a space with a false tooth attached between.

Extractions
At Mukwonago Family Dentistry we provide tooth removal services. We do however refer extractions to local oral surgeons in select cases.

Implant restorations
A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth root. Implants are typically placed by an oral surgeon and we make the teeth to attach to them. An implant/implants can be used to replace a single tooth, to replace multiple teeth, all the teeth or to simply hold a denture in place. The restoration can be fixed solidly in place or can be removable in the case of dentures.

Endodontic services:

Root canal therapy
Teeth have a hollow space internally that contain a nerve and blood vessel. Root canal therapy is done when the nerve is irreversibly inflamed or has died. The process involves cleaning out the space and filling it with an inert material. The purpose is to be able to comfortably maintain the tooth.
Following root canal therapy, treated teeth normally require a crown to prevent the remaining tooth structure from fracturing.

Denture services:

• Full dentures
• Removable partial dentures
• Denture repairs - we provide same day denture repairs including relines.
• Implant supported dentures - This is a denture that is held in place by dental implants. Implants provide great stability for dentures.

Cosmetic services:

Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that is bonded to the front of a tooth following slight reduction of the enamel. Veneers are placed to esthetically enhance the appearance of one or multiple teeth.

Whitening
Whitening your teeth can be great for self esteem. We use a take home process that you do in the comfort of your home. A custom whitening tray is made to fit your teeth in which you place a whitening gel for approximately one hour per day.

Esthetic fillings
Esthetic fillings are tooth colored fillings. Most commonly they are a resin material, but can be made from porcelain. Esthetic fillings are always used in front teeth and are used on back teeth by patient request.

Bonding
Tooth bonding is a process of attaching resin filling material to a tooth to change the shape of a tooth or to improve the color.
